Community Environmental Health Profiles

What are Community Environmental Health Profiles?

Community Environmental Health Profiles help describe the health and resilience of New Mexico communities. Users can select a single New Mexico county to view various socio-economic, environmental, and health indicators and outcomes for that county, including:

  • Demographics
  • Socio-economic traits
  • Disease rates

  • Poisonings
  • Drinking water quality
  • Various other risk factors and outcomes

This information may be useful for counties that want to collaborate on similar problems and share strategies for improving community health. Each profile includes state and national averages for all available indicators, providing a measure of how local environmental and health indicators compare to New Mexico and the U.S. as a whole.

These county profiles complement our topic-specific data queries, which allow users to select a single health or environmental topic (e.g. rates of bladder cancer or arsenic levels in drinking water) for all New Mexico counties. For more detailed information on a particular health or environmental indicator, please explore its topic-specific data query. By using the county profile, you can view multiple indicators for a single county.
